Contracts Specialist - VR/32898

Working across a varied range of commercial contracts and subcontracts, this role covers contract review, drafting and negotiation throughout the full contract lifecycle within an established engineering and equipment services business. You'll work closely with sales, procurement and technical teams to identify and manage contractual risk, provide practical advice and develop robust contractual arrangements that support project delivery across global operations.

     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft and negotiate client contracts, subcontracts and other commercial agreements.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks, ensuring appropriate protections and obligations are reflected across client and supplier agreements.
  • Provide practical contractual advice to colleagues, clients and suppliers throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Work closely with procurement, sales and technical teams on subcontracting strategies and contractual requirements.
  • Assess contractual risk during bids and tenders, providing clear risk profiles to inform commercial decisions.
  • Negotiate framework agreements, variations and contract changes, addressing risks and opportunities as they arise.
  • Monitor contractual obligations and compliance, helping to resolve issues, disputes and claims.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and documentation within the Contract Lifecycle Management system.
  • Contribute to contract close-out, lessons learned and the ongoing improvement of templates, processes and contractual practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider business to promote consistent contract management and risk management approaches.

      

About You:

  • Relevant experience within a Contracts Specialist, Subcontracts Specialist or similar contracts-focused role in a comparable industry.
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Confident reviewing, interpreting and negotiating contractual terms and providing clear, practical advice.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and recognise when issues require escalation.
  • Analytical, well organised and comfortable working to deadlines.
