The role involves monitoring budgets, producing detailed variance reports and providing clear financial guidance to stakeholders across the business. You will also support audits, maintain strong financial controls and undertake improvement projects. This position would suit a part-qualified or qualified CIMA or ACCA Accountant with reporting, reconciliation and stakeholder management experience in practice.

Key duties

• Preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts and supporting financial information.
• Completing month-end accounting activities, including journals, ledger reviews and reconciliations.
• Producing regular cash forecasts and support wider financial planning activities.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and operating plans.
• Monitoring financial performance and prepare detailed budget-versus-actual variance reports.
• Working closely with operational stakeholders to promote effective budgetary control.
• Providing clear financial information and analysis to support commercial decision-making.
• Offering practical accounting guidance to colleagues with financial or budgetary responsibilities.
• Maintaining compliance with internal finance procedures, accounting standards and relevant legislation.
• Supporting internal and external audit requirements, providing accurate information when required.
• Building effective relationships with stakeholders and represent the finance function professionally.
• Undertaking financial projects and investigations, making recommendations to improve processes and reporting.
• Supporting the continuous improvement of financial controls, systems and overall service delivery.
