Cost Controller - VR/31740
Leading independent E&P company are seeking an experienced Cost Controller for a 12-month contract initially. Upstream oil and gas experience within a similar role is desirable, alongside a strong understanding of cost management. Hybrid working available.
Overview job description:
Providing Cost Control support to the required function. Maintaining cost tracking data, providing regular cost reporting updates and administering detailed budget/forecasts to Budget Holder(s). Focal Interface between Operations and Finance functions to ensure accurate cost information and budgeting activities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Delivering accurate and timely cost information.
- Driving monthly cost reviews with incumbent Budget Holders.
- Working with Budget Holders to prepare business plans, Value of Work Done, and forecasts.
- Tracking commitments and invoices against activities.
- Supporting business P2P process for area as required.
- Liaising with Supply Chain on invoice related issues as appropriate.
- Providing of information for cost allocations cycles as required.
- Preparing variance and trend analysis as required.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders including Budget Owners, Contract Owners and Accountants.
- Undertaking various reconciliation or deep dive exercises as required.
- Providing support to master data and reporting structure requirements.
- Providing ad-hoc cost analysis and management presentations as required.
Applicants to this role require:
- Degree qualified and/or appropriate experience and qualifications.
- Understanding of Upstream E&P Industry requirements.
- Strong understanding of cost management including Value of Work Done and forecast to complete.
- Solid understanding of contracts and procurement.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience of Finance systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the organisation.
- Focus on service delivery to business and functions.
- Flexible and responsive to stakeholder requirements and changing environment.
- Ability to deliver high quality work by deadlines and work effectively under time pressure.
- Ability to work on own initiative, proactively drive change, take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion.
