Credit Controller - VR/32787

An opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive Credit Controller to join a busy Finance Team. This role plays a key part in managing customer accounts, reducing overdue debt, and ensuring invoices are paid within agreed terms. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external customers to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships.

     

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring customer accounts and proactively chasing outstanding balances.
  • Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts.
  • Investigating and resolving invoice queries and payment disputes.
  • Liaising with operational teams regarding invoicing, credits and account issues.
  • Producing regular credit control updates and reports.
  • Supporting account reconciliations and month-end processes.
  • Assisting with sales ledger activities and invoicing when required.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and reporting information.
  • Building positive relationships with customers to encourage timely payment.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable or a similar finance role.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to work independently and use initiative to resolve issues.
  • Positive, proactive and resilient approach to work.
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems would be advantageous but not essential.
