Data Engineer role focused on designing and delivering robust, scalable data solutions that support business insight and decision making. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll build governed data products using the Microsoft Power Platform and modern data engineering technologies, contributing to analytics, automation, and data driven outcomes in a fast paced environment.

     

This role designs, builds, and delivers high-quality data solutions that enable insight, reporting, and decision-making across the organisation. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, production-ready data products, using modern Microsoft data and analytics platforms.

      

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Engagement & Requirements:

  • Partnering directly with business users to understand functional and technical requirements.
  • Translating business needs into well-designed, scalable data and analytics solutions.
  • Supporting data-driven decision-making through clear, accessible, and reliable outputs.

      

Data Engineering & Analytics:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Building analytics and data engineering solutions using modern platforms such as Microsoft Fabric.
  • Supporting data modelling, orchestration, performance optimisation, and data transformation.
  • Delivering high-quality, well-governed data products in a fast-moving and evolving environment.

      

Collaboration & Delivery:

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary delivery team, collaborating across technology and business functions.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of data platforms, tooling, and ways of working.
  • Ensuring solutions are production-ready, robust, and aligned with organisational data standards.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI Dataflows.
  • Experience with modern data engineering platforms; Microsoft Fabric preferred, with alternatives also considered.
  • Solid understanding of core data engineering principles (data modelling, orchestration, performance).
  • Strong ability to bridge business needs and technical implementation.
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
  • Experience working in, or delivering solutions for, an oil and gas environment.
