Overview Job Description:
A leading international organisation is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide comprehensive IT support across multiple locations, including offshore and global offices. This is a dynamic, user-facing role requiring both technical expertise and strong communication skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver desktop support including installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of end-user devices, peripherals, mobile technology, telephony, and conferencing systems.
- Respond promptly to user issues, taking a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolution.
- Support internal office moves and equipment setup.
- Monitor system performance and availability using standard industry tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to resolve technical issues.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately within the IT Team.
- Assist with IT projects, contributing to implementation and delivery.
- Develop and update IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Deliver user training sessions and workshops as required.
- Ensure all work aligns with IT change management processes.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and service requests.
- Travel to offshore and international locations as required.
- Stay up to date with IT and cyber security best practices.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in desktop support or a similar IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of desktop technologies, devices, and operating systems.
- Experience supporting mobile devices, telephony, and conferencing tools.
- Familiarity with IT service management processes and change control.
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively and prioritise workload.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers.
- Willingness to travel internationally, including offshore environments.
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
