Financial Accountant - VR/32779
New opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join an established finance team within a manufacturing and engineering environment. This role is responsible for the preparation, validation and reporting of monthly and annual financial information, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory reporting.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be a key member of the finance team. The role is responsible for the collation, preparation and validation of monthly and annual profit and loss accounts and balance sheet information, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, audit processes and statutory reporting requirements.
The position also includes line management responsibility for an Accounts Assistant team member and plays an important role in maintaining strong financial reporting processes across the business.
Main Duties:
- Prepare and report monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheet information.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end reporting packs and group reporting submissions.
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, reforecasts and associated reporting.
- Prepare year-end schedules and liaise with auditors throughout interim and year-end audits.
- Prepare annual tax return information and coordinate with tax auditors.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
- Produce weekly cash flow forecasts and cash reporting.
- Support working capital management activities, with particular focus on stock management.
- Contribute to the reporting and analysis of monthly business KPIs.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required within the scope of the role.
Applicants to this role require:
- Qualified Accountant status or significant relevant accounting experience.
- Experience using ERP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 being advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to produce high-quality work within agreed deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst using initiative and working independently.
