An opportunity to join an engineering services business supporting clients in the energy sector. Working across multiple divisions, the company delivers technical solutions for complex projects. As Group Commercial Manager, you’ll lead commercial governance and contract management across the business, safeguarding commercial interests, managing risk and supporting internal teams to drive effective negotiations and strong client and subcontractor relationships.

     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the review, negotiation and management of customer and subcontractor contracts, ensuring compliance with company principles and policies.
  • Conducting contractual and commercial reviews at tender stage, providing risk assessments and qualifications.
  • Preparing and maintaining contract summaries, approval documentation and project handover packs.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks in collaboration with Sales and Project Teams.
  • Maintaining registers covering liabilities, NDAs, bonds, guarantees and warranties.
  • Providing commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting and coaching internal teams to strengthen contract management and risk awareness.
  • Negotiating back-to-back terms and framework agreements with subcontractors.
  • Supporting project teams post-award, managing variations, disputes and performance obligations.
  • Contributing to commercial strategies that support business objectives and strengthen commercial performance.
  • Working with finance to provide accurate project reporting for management and board meetings.

         

About You:

  • Background in commercial or contracts management within engineering, fabrication or site services.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard contract forms, including LOGIC, FIDIC and NEC.
  • Confident negotiator with the ability to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and capable of working independently.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is beneficial.
  • Experience across oil and gas, renewables or heavy engineering sectors is advantageous.
