Join a successful multi-site business in Aberdeen and North of Aberdeen as a Group Management Accountant. Reporting to the Group Finance Director and Board, you'll lead consolidated management reporting, financial analysis and ERP system development while supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.

    

This is a senior and highly visible finance position within a well-established food manufacturing group operating across multiple sites in North East Scotland. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director and Board, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting financial performance, strategic decision-making and operational excellence across the business.

           

The Group Management Accountant will take ownership of consolidated management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, while also driving the development and optimisation of the organisation's ERP system. The role includes line management responsibility for finance and commercial administration staff and acts as a key business partner to senior leadership teams across the organisation.

            

This position offers the opportunity to influence business performance at both an operational and strategic level within a complex, multi-company manufacturing environment.

           

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly consolidated management accounts across a group of operating companies.
  • Produce detailed financial reports, analysis and performance insights for directors and senior management teams.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting and longer-term business planning activities.
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen financial systems, controls and reporting processes.
  • Lead the ongoing development, optimisation and management of the Group ERP system.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of ERP data, including product costing structures, manufacturing methods and operational data.
  • Provide meaningful cost analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making and improve profitability.
  • Support statutory reporting requirements, year-end audits and tax compliance activities.
  • Manage, mentor and develop finance and administration team members, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong working relationships across operations, commercial and leadership teams, acting as a trusted finance business partner.
  • Deputise for the Group Finance Director and/or senior finance leadership team as required.
  • Contribute to business improvement projects and initiatives across the wider organisation.

              

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience of management accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience of consolidated group reporting across multiple entities.
  • Demonstrable involvement in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Experience developing and improving ERP systems, reporting tools and financial processes.
  • Previous experience supporting external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting capabilities.
  • Commercially minded and results-focused.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative and approachable leadership style.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to enhance systems and processes.
