The Head of Procurement and Supply Chain role provides leadership across procurement, contracts and supply chain activity within a business operating and maintaining critical energy infrastructure. The position is accountable for sourcing strategy, contract management and supplier performance, supporting operational assets in the UK and Norway while ensuring security of supply, compliance and value delivery.

   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting and delivering procurement and supply chain strategy across a portfolio of operational assets, ensuring security of supply and regulatory compliance.
  • Providing strategic and operational leadership across procurement, contracts and supply chain activity, supporting asset teams to optimise value and performance.
  • Developing and implementing category management and long-term procurement strategies across major spend areas.
  • Driving excellence in end-to-end contract lifecycle management, from strategy and tendering through to execution, performance management, renewal and close-out.
  • Overseeing day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring compliant and efficient requisition-to-purchase processes across sites.
  • Leading contract governance, performance monitoring and risk mitigation activity, including KPIs, SLAs and supplier compliance.
  • Supporting dispute resolution and complex commercial matters, working collaboratively to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Managing contract renewal planning to ensure continuity of supply and controlled commercial outcomes.
  • Owning delivery of procurement savings and cost reduction initiatives across the contract lifecycle.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing the procurement and contracts team, promoting consistent standards and a collaborative approach across sites and the wider group.
  • Acting as the primary procurement interface for senior stakeholders, providing transparency on performance, risk and supply chain activity.

           

About you:

  • Senior-level procurement and supply chain experience within oil and gas or a comparable process industry environment.
  • Strong background in developing and delivering procurement and contracting strategies across complex operational assets.
  • Extensive experience managing high-value tenders, contracts and supplier relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract terms, conditions and contracting strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams across multi-site and multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, balancing operational priorities, commercial outcomes and compliance requirements.
  • Professional procurement qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
