A well-established operator in the UK energy sector is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor on a temporary PAYE contract, expected to run until the end of September 2026. This role is based in Kingswells, Aberdeen, supporting a range of onshore and offshore activities across operations, decommissioning, projects, wells and subsea.

   

Purpose of the Role

The Health & Safety Advisor will provide a broad range of HSES advice and support to ensure activities remain compliant with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures, while proactively seeking opportunities to improve health and safety performance and developing strong regulatory relationships.

            

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements, legislation and internal HSES procedures.
  • Monitor safety performance using key risk indicators aligned with asset and company goals.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits and formal correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators.
  • Maintain risk registers and support ALARP demonstrations.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and keep offshore teams informed of regulatory changes.
  • Deliver practical risk management solutions to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Provide HSE support services and ensure adherence to the HSES management system.
  • Coordinate delivery of audits, training, permits and other HSE activities.
  • Support incident investigation systems (Synergi/COMET), including coaching and participation in investigations when required.
  • Monitor investigation quality, identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Liaise with offshore safety representatives and contractors.
  • Support offshore visits, inspections and emergency response activities, including short-notice or weekend mobilisation when required.
  • Participate in audits and collaborate with assurance teams.
  • Mobilise offshore as required by business needs.
  • Participate in the emergency response rota if required by the position.

           

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant HSE qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and working towards NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
  • UK Continental Shelf onshore/offshore industry experience in a similar role.
  • Corporate membership of a professional body requiring ongoing CPD.
  • Must hold UK-required offshore certification.
  • Awareness of internal HSES policies, business management systems, values and business principles.
