HSSEQ Advisor - VR/32595
Currently supporting a leading FPSO owner and operator with the recruitment of an HSSEQ Advisor (onshore) to join their team in Westhill, Aberdeen. This is a newly created permanent staff role within an established HSSEQ function, offering the opportunity to work closely with the HSSEQ & Compliance Manager while supporting FPSO operations across the UK Continental Shelf. The position combines office-based and operational HSSEQ activities, providing exposure to both onshore and offshore operations.
This full-time permanent role (37.5 hours per week) will suit an experienced HSSEQ professional who can provide practical advice and support to operational teams, contribute to safe and compliant operations, and help drive continuous improvement across the business. The position offers a mix of office-based and operational HSSEQ activities, including periodic offshore visits and engagement with both onshore and offshore stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide HSSEQ advice and support to onshore and offshore operational.
- Support the identification and management of Major Accident Hazards (MAH), health, safety and environmental risks.
- Contribute to compliance with legislation, the safety case and company management.
- Lead and participate in incident.
- Deliver assurance activities, including audits and verification activities both onshore and offshore.
- Support regulatory inspections and follow-up.
- Prepare HSSE reports and analyse performance.
- Support the delivery of safety campaigns and HSSE.
- Undertake offshore visits to FPSO assets and periodic travel to support.
What We're Looking For:
The successful candidate will have proven HSSEQ experience within the UK Continental Shelf, gained with an operator or duty holder organisation. You will be able to quickly integrate into a high-performing operational environment, work independently, manage changing priorities, and confidently provide constructive challenge where required.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of the UK Safety Case regime, offshore HSE legislation, environmental legislation and permitting requirements.
- Experience in Major Accident Hazard and process safety.
- Experience leading incident.
- Experience leading and participating in audit and verification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across onshore and offshore teams.
- Sound judgement, curiosity and a practical, collaborative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Essential:
- NEBOSH General.
- Experience in an HSSEQ role within the UKCS with an operator or duty.
- Risk assessment and incident investigation training (TOPSET preferred).
- Ability to travel offshore within the UK Continental Shelf, with relevant certification such as BOSIET/FOET and a valid offshore medical.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant.
- Experience using Synergi or similar.
- Additional training such as MEMIR or OIM.
