An international offshore organisation is seeking an experienced IT Security Officer to help protect its information, technology and operational environments.

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will play an important role in developing the organisation’s security policies, improving its overall security posture and ensuring that security is incorporated into the design and delivery of IT services.

The position offers broad exposure across information security, cyber security and operational technology. You will work closely with internal IT and engineering teams, the organisation’s Data Protection Officer, external service providers and managed security specialists.

You will also contribute to security initiatives across the wider international group, including joint IT and operational technology projects.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining IT security policies, standards and procedures.
• Monitoring and continually improving the organisation's security posture.
• Leading vulnerability management activities and supporting secure solution design.
• Investigating, reporting and responding to security incidents and KPI trends.
• Maintaining the enterprise backup platform and security controls.
• Working with internal stakeholders and external providers on cyber security initiatives.
• Supporting audits, security testing exercises and compliance activities.
• Delivering user awareness and cyber security training programmes.
• Assisting with data protection and information request processes.
• Participating in on-call rotas and travel offshore when required.
