Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Project Planner to take ownership of project planning governance, performance management and planning excellence across a portfolio of complex energy and decommissioning projects. This is a senior position offering the opportunity to influence project delivery strategy, develop planning best practice and lead a team of project planning professionals.

   

Reporting into senior management, the successful candidate will act as the organisation's subject matter expert for project planning, ensuring robust planning processes, systems and performance measures are in place to support successful project execution.

             

Working closely with project teams, contractors and key stakeholders, you will drive consistency across planning activities, enhance project controls performance and support the successful delivery of major projects.

     

Overview job description:

  • Lead and govern the project planning function.
  • Develop and implement planning standards, procedures and best practice.
  • Drive planning consistency across project teams, alliance partners and subcontractors.
  • Establish and monitor planning, progress measurement and performance KPIs.
  • Lead or support Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis activities.
  • Maintain oversight of integrated project schedules and planning deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on Primavera P6 utilisation and governance.
  • Champion continuous improvement across project controls and performance management disciplines.

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive Primavera P6 planning experience.
  • Significant experience within the North Sea energy sector and decommissioning projects.
  • Strong understanding of Project Controls, including Planning, Cost, Risk and Earned Value Management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence and develop others.

             

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Association for Project Management (APM) principles and terminology.
