Permanent role in Aberdeen within the energy sector, managing international logistics and trade compliance. Responsible for import/export operations, vendor management, and process improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient supply chain performance. Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the organisation’s import and export compliance, ensuring all activities meet relevant legal and regulatory standards.
  • Acting as the main contact for customs authorities, brokers, and freight forwarders to guarantee shipments are cleared accurately and on time. Assisting with obtaining export licences for the UK and EU, including handling registrations, applications, compliance checks, and maintaining records.
  • Coordinating internal and external logistics resources to ensure materials are delivered on time, accurately, and cost-effectively.
  • Supervising import and export activities across the UK, Europe, and Norway, ensuring full visibility and compliance.
  • Managing relationships with logistics vendors, ensuring high service standards and accountability.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements in logistics processes, such as consolidating freight and benchmarking rates.
  • Monitoring and controlling logistics costs through contract reviews, freight audits, and involvement in rate negotiations.
  • Preparing for and support audits of customs and logistics processes, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Utilising digital tools and data analysis to generate reports, improving visibility, and supporting decision-making across the logistics network.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Demonstrated experience in logistics, trade compliance, or customs brokerage, including supervisory or team leadership responsibilities.
  • At least 3 years’ experience with customs regulations, export licensing (including trade controls), and EU export compliance.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to gather, validate, and synthesise data, prepare reports, and communicate effectively across different functions and cultures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital tools.
