Logistics Coordinator - VR/32792
Logistics Coordinator required for a permanent position in Aberdeen. You’ll coordinate import, export and domestic cargo movements across multiple modes of transport, managing each shipment from initial enquiry through to delivery.
Take responsibility for coordinating cargo movements while ensuring customer requirements, relevant legislation and operational procedures are met.
You’ll manage import, export and domestic shipments from origin to destination, working with customers, carriers and internal teams to provide a responsive and reliable logistics service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate import, export and domestic cargo movements across different modes of transport.
- Monitor shipments from origin through to final destination.
- Complete customs entries using the relevant HMRC systems.
- Prepare competitive quotations for existing and prospective customers.
- Liaise with customers, carriers and overseas agents throughout the shipment process.
- Arrange collections, deliveries and appropriate transport services.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and supporting documentation.
- Provide customers with regular updates and practical advice.
- Support customs clearance activities, ensuring duties and VAT are calculated correctly.
- Assist with invoicing, filing and general operational administration.
- Ensure activities comply with relevant customs, transport, health and safety, and data protection requirements.
Applicants to This Role Require
- Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding or cargo coordination.
- Knowledge of import and/or export processes.
- An understanding of customs documentation and clearance requirements.
- Confidence coordinating shipments across air, sea or road freight.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail when preparing quotations, entries and shipment documentation.
- A proactive approach to resolving operational issues.
- Experience using customs systems would be advantageous.
