Exciting opportunity to join a global integrated energy company as a Payroll & Systems Leader. Within the renewables division, you will oversee payroll delivery across all UK branches, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while driving accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across payroll processes and systems.

     

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of payroll services across multiple UK entities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Payroll is closely integrated with the HR system (SuccessFactors), making this an ideal opportunity for someone with an interest in systems optimisation and transformation.

      

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Leading and supporting payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely delivery across all UK entities.
  • Overseeing five UK payrolls, including all statutory monthly and annual reporting requirements (HMRC, pensions, and benefits providers).
  • Managing the relationship with the external payroll bureau, ensuring service delivery standards are met.
  • Acting as a key contact for stakeholders across the UK, shaping and improving payroll service provision.
  • Taking responsibility for Gender Pay Gap reporting for relevant entities.
  • Working closely with Group IS to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
  • Reviewing current payroll systems and processes, presenting recommendations to senior leadership and leading implementation of enhancements.

      

Team Leadership

  • Leading, developing, and motivating a team of payroll specialists.
  • Driving continuous improvement, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.
  • Building strong relationships with HR leadership to support wider business objectives.
  • Ensuring the team remains up to date with best practice, legislation, and industry developments.
  • Maintaining alignment with group policies, local legislation, and governance requirements.

      

About You

  • Proven experience in payroll leadership within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with HR systems; exposure to system implementation or optimisation is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors would be advantageous.
  • Confident Stakeholder Manager, able to influence at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on delivery.
