Plant Operator - VR/32453

A leading organisation supporting the energy sector is seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join its Aberdeen operations on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous mud plant or bulk plant experience to join a busy operational team responsible for the safe preparation, handling and distribution of specialist fluid products used in drilling and wellsite operations.

    

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Safely blend and mix bulk products in accordance with operational requirements and job specifications.
  • Prepare products for delivery to wellsites, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.
  • Calculate and verify material quantities prior to loading and dispatch.
  • Conduct quality control checks and follow established quality assurance procedures.
  • Coordinate the movement of bulk materials and products with logistics and operational teams.
  • Receive, store and manage materials in line with company procedures.
  • Complete daily operational documentation and support monthly inventory activities.
  • Ensure additives and chemicals are labelled, stored and handled safely.
  • Manage the safe disposal of empty containers and waste materials.
  • Carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance checks on plant equipment.

             

Applicants to this role require

Essential

  • Valid Forklift Licence (minimum B1 category).
  • Previous experience within a mud plant, bulk plant, fluids plant or similar industrial processing environment.
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and follow operational procedures.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.

          

Desirable

  • Experience supporting drilling fluids or wellsite operations.
  • Previous exposure to inventory management and logistics coordination.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard HSE practices within the energy sector.
