Due to continued operational requirements, we are supporting our client in hiring an experienced Production Shift Manager to provide management cover across their production facilities in Fraserburgh, with occasional travel to Aberdeen as required.

   

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing production operations, driving performance and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency are maintained.

         

Working closely with production, engineering, technical and management teams, you will play a key role in achieving operational objectives while leading and developing frontline teams.

           

Overview job description

  • Lead production operations to achieve daily output targets.
  • Monitor and improve key production KPIs, including yields, waste, efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage the control and movement of incoming and outgoing raw materials.
  • Drive labour utilisation and maximise operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and food production standards.
  • Supervise, motivate and develop production teams across multiple shifts.
  • Work closely with Factory and Technical Managers to maintain quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Chair daily operational meetings and coordinate with engineering, technical and production personnel.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.

            

Applicants to this role require

  • Previous experience in a Production Shift Manager, Production Manager or similar supervisory role.
  • A strong track record in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally within chilled food, seafood or food production.
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience monitoring and driving production KPIs.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across departments.
  • A proactive, forward-thinking approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A strong understanding of health, safety and quality standards within a production environment.
