Opportunity for an experienced Revenue Accountant to join their Aberdeen-based finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate accounting, reporting and analysis of production revenues, inventory movements and associated financial data across a portfolio of energy assets.
This is a highly visible position that works closely with commercial, operational, finance and external stakeholders, providing critical financial information that supports business performance and decision-making. The successful candidate will become an integral member of a collaborative finance team and will contribute to ongoing process improvements and operational excellence.
Main Duties:
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly revenue accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Account for hydrocarbon sales, inventory positions and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare, review and issue revenue invoices and validate third-party billing information.
- Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Produce financial analysis and management information to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting requirements.
- Support external audits and provide information and analysis as required.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, joint venture partners and customers.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, standardisation and automation.
- Contribute to wider finance projects and undertake additional duties as required.
Applicants Require:
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Previous experience in a Revenue Accountant position within the oil and gas, energy or related sector.
- Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles, production accounting and hydrocarbon sales processes.
- Experience of working with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of data.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative and continuous improvement mindset.
