Design, implement, and support secure, high performance enterprise networks across hybrid environments. Lead SD WAN and SASE adoption, manage Cisco and Palo Alto infrastructure, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with security teams. Deliver resilient connectivity, ensure compliance, support transformation projects, and maintain robust documentation and reporting.

     

This senior role is responsible for shaping, delivering, and maintaining secure, scalable, and modern enterprise network services across distributed and hybrid environments. You will lead the deployment of advanced networking technologies, ensure seamless connectivity, and strengthen security posture while supporting broader transformation initiatives and guiding junior engineers.

         

Main duties and responsibilities

       

Network Architecture & Operations

  • Designing, deploying, and managing enterprise network infrastructure using Cisco technologies.
  • Implementing and optimising SD WAN solutions to support distributed and cloud connected estates.
  • Administrating next generation firewalls and centralised management platforms for secure access and advanced threat prevention.
  • Configuring routing protocols, VLANs, NAT, high availability architecture, and segmentation.
  • Monitoring performance and availability using tools such as Cisco management platforms, NetFlow tools, and network monitoring systems.

        

Security & SASE Integration

  • Leading the adoption of SASE frameworks, integrating secure web gateways, ZTNA, CASB, and firewall as a service.
  • Working closely with security teams to implement zero trust strategies and threat mitigation controls.
  • Ensuring alignment with internal standards and external compliance frameworks.

      

Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Providing leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Partnering with cloud, infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Supporting projects such as data centre modernisation, cloud network integration, and secure remote access initiatives.

       

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
  • Producing availability, performance, and security reports for leadership, highlighting risks and improvement areas.

            

         

Applicants to this role require

        

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking and network security.
  • Strong hands on expertise with Cisco routing, switching, and collaboration technologies.
  • Experience administering Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and Prisma related platforms.
  • Proven knowledge of SD WAN and SASE technologies.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, ACLs, VPNs.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, mentoring, and problem solving skills.

       

Preferred

  • Certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, Cisco Security, or similar.
  • Exposure to large scale transformation or cloud networking initiatives.
