Working within the ROV Operations department, the Senior Structural Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

• Performing structural checks of ROV equipment, following industry codes and standards.
• Designing (structural elements) of ROV equipment.
• Specifying load test requirements for ROV equipment.
• Supervising third party structural designs of ROV equipment.
• Producing structural engineering deliverables: design reports, calculations templates, scopes of work.
• Supervising draughting (structural elements) of ROV equipment.
• Providing advice for interfaces with Classification Societies.
• Supporting estimating of structural engineering activities.
• Advising / mentoring engineers.
• Supporting on-site activities, when required.

Experience / Qualifications:

• A Master’s (MEng) degree in Structural Engineering, or similar, is essential.
• Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
• Proven experience in structural engineering analysis and design is essential.
• Previous structural engineering experience in the subsea sector is essential.
• Structural engineering experience with ROV equipment would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of industry codes (e.g. AISC, Eurocode for steel design) is essential.
• Applicants should be familiar with processes for fabrication and non-destructive examination.
• Applicants should have experience in the design / specification of lifting equipment.
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis (beam element and 3D simulation) is essential.
• Experience in using calculation tools (e.g. Mathcad) is essential.
• CAD (2D and 3D) experience is essential.
• ANSYS or STAAD.Pro experience would be desirable.
