Senior Well Intervention Engineer - VR/32466
Currently seeking an experienced Senior Well Intervention Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Aberdeen. It is a 4-6-month contract position that will be offered on a PAYE basis.
The Senior Well Intervention Engineer will be responsible for supporting the company’s platform and subsea operated wells interventions across all company assets, ensuring optimal safety, technical and commercial performance.
Reporting to the Well Intervention Team Leader, the Senior Well Intervention Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that the WTI (Well Treatment and Intervention) Engineering Team complies with statutory and company health and safety policies/procedures.
- Ensure the WTI Engineering Team maintains a high level of safety performance with no environmental issues during activities.
- Interfaces appropriately with the Assets to ensure intervention requests are promptly and accurately prepared.
- Provide support to all intervention operations (covering a wide range of interventions such as pumping, stimulation, coiled tubing, slickline, wireline, well maintenance, well integrity, E-line and snubbing operations). Ensure the well interventions planning is optimised to achieve operational objectives within the agreed time scale and budget.
- Propose technical and commercial improvements and drive a performance culture within the Engineering Team.
- Provide technical input to the Wells Review and technical screening exercises of the Assets. Assist with the well intervention planning, promoting cost saving practices and identifying efficiencies.
- Ensure well intervention operations are prepared in compliance with company and statutory standards.
- Develop and update well treatment and intervention CMS procedures in line with Company Rules.
- Write and review well intervention programmes, HSE notifications and technical documents ensuring consistency and compliance with company requirements.
- Follow the status of WTI contracts and WTI expenditures.
- Develop estimated cost and duration for interventions or elements of specific operations.
- Intermittently visit and audit service companies with a focus on contractor equipment and company owned equipment stored by the Service companies.
- Follow up and review the lessons learnt and REXs issued within WTI section.
- Ensure end of intervention reports are completed to the required standard.
- Participate in risk assessments, HAZOPs or HAZIDs as required.
- Organise regular offshore visits for audits, pre-job meetings, SHE, etc.
- Follow up on specific projects as required (e.g. snubbing).
Experience/Qualifications:
- A degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Senior Well Intervention Engineer type role, directly within the UK Oil & Gas industry, is essential.
- Experience in well operations for platform and subsea well equipment is essential.
