Our client, a well-established organisation operating within a highly regulated technical environment, is looking to recruit a Stores Operative to join their Warehouse and Logistics Team.

     

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous stores, warehouse or inventory experience who enjoys a varied, hands-on role. You'll play an important part in ensuring materials are stored accurately, stock is maintained to a high standard, and warehouse operations continue to run efficiently while supporting exciting system improvement projects.

        

As a Stores Operative, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the stores and yard while assisting with warehouse improvements, inventory accuracy and system migration activities across multiple locations. We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised and enjoys working in a busy warehouse environment.

          

Overview job description

  • Coordinating stock movements between storage locations.
  • Supporting warehouse reorganisation and storage optimisation projects.
  • Assisting with stores refurbishment, resets and facility improvements.
  • Carrying out stock checks, inventory counts and paperwork verification.
  • Labelling stock and storage locations to ensure system accuracy.
  • Supporting warehouse management system migration activities.
  • Maintaining high storage standards and removing obsolete or non-compliant materials.
  • Managing scrap, waste clearance and general yard organisation.
  • Handling and relocating temperature-controlled materials where required.
  • Supporting audit actions and health & safety improvements.
  • Ensuring physical stock locations accurately reflect warehouse management systems.

        

Applicants to this role require

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role.
  • Good computer skills with experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining stock accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to support changing operational priorities.
  • A good understanding of warehouse health and safety practices.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).

        

As this is a physically active role, you'll be comfortable lifting and moving materials, working on your feet throughout the day, and carrying out a range of manual warehouse and yard duties.
