Stores Controller/Lead - VR/32194

Our client is currently recruiting for a Stores Controller/Lead to join their Operations Team in Peterhead on a permanent staff basis. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting day-to-day yard and stores activities within a busy operational environment.

    

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control and dispatch of materials and equipment, while maintaining high standards of safety, organisation and operational performance.

          

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Receiving and dispatching goods in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintaining stock control systems and ensuring all inventory movements are recorded correctly.
  • Raising transfer orders, stock write-offs and related documentation.
  • Carrying out cycle counts and full stock counts in line with company procedures.
  • Organising materials, equipment and assets within both the stores and yard areas.
  • Supporting loading and backloading operations for offshore containers.
  • Operating forklifts and assisting with general yard duties.
  • Ensuring compliance with all HSEQ procedures and safe working practices.
  • Participating in toolbox talks and operational meetings.
  • Providing support and guidance to operators and assisting with on-site training activities.
  • Building strong working relationships with suppliers, vendors and internal teams.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across stores and yard operations.

         

Applicants to this role require

  • Previous experience within a stores, warehouse or yard environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within the oil and gas or energy sector would be advantageous.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience using inventory or ERP systems such as Navision would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and logistics systems would be advantageous.
