Our client is a globally recognised provider of specialist laboratory, inspection and technical services to the energy sector, supporting customers across some of the world's most demanding operational environments. Due to continued business demand, they are seeking a Yard Operative to join their team in Keith on an initial 4 week contracting basis.

    

This is a varied position supporting workshop, warehouse and yard operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment, materials and stock are managed safely and efficiently while contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day activities across the site.

            

Overview job description

  • Operate forklift trucks and other handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Load, unload, receive and dispatch goods.
  • Support stock control and inventory management processes.
  • Maintain organised workshop and yard areas.
  • Assist with equipment movements and general site logistics.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with company health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Accurately update records and use computer systems to support operational activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business while also managing tasks independently.

           

Applicants to this role require

  • A valid forklift licence, ideally with experience operating a 16-tonne forklift (training can be provided if required).
  • Previous workshop, warehouse and/or yard experience.
  • Good working knowledge of common computer applications.
  • Basic understanding of stock control, goods receipt and dispatch processes.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and site procedures.
