The company is developing innovative structural solutions for the offshore wind sector, supporting the deployment of next-generation renewable energy infrastructure in challenging marine environments. They are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support the development and verification of a novel deep-water fixed-bottom offshore wind support structure.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in the structural design and fatigue assessment of offshore wind support structures.  A key focus of the role will be understanding turbine loading, environmental loading and structural response to ensure long-term integrity and performance.

The Structural Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

• Performing structural design and assessment of offshore wind support structures.
• Assessing structural responses from wind, wave, current, installation and operational loading.
• Conducting fatigue life assessments for welded steel structures.
• Reviewing turbine load data and load envelopes supplied by OEMs.
• Undertaking ULS, FLS, SLS and ALS assessments.
• Identifying fatigue-critical details and develop design improvements.
• Developing engineering calculations, reports and specifications.
• Supporting Finite Element Analysis activities.
• Supporting certification and verification activities.

Experience / Qualifications:

Essential:

• Degree qualified in Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Offshore Engineering.
• Offshore structural engineering experience.
• Proven offshore wind industry experience.
• Strong understanding of offshore wind turbine support structures.
• Demonstrable experience undertaking fatigue assessments of offshore steel structures.
• Experience using turbine load data from major OEMs such as Siemens Gamesa, Vestas or GE.
• Knowledge of structural dynamics and turbine-induced loading.
• Experience in assessing welded steel structures in marine environments.

Desirable:

• Experience with fixed-bottom offshore wind foundations.
• Experience with jackets, monopiles and transition pieces.
• Experience with deep-water offshore structures.
• Dynamic analysis and soil-structure interaction experience.
• Experience with structural optimisation and certification activities.
