Sub-contracts Specialist - VR/32017

A 6-month contract for a Sub-contracts Specialist to support the Energy Division of an international engineering and services group. Reporting to the Head of Contracts, the role focuses on reviewing and negotiating strategic supplier agreements, including Master Service Agreements and Frame Agreements, ensuring alignment with main contract obligations and mitigation of commercial risk.

   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the review and negotiation of strategic supplier agreements to ensure risk mitigation, security of supply and cost avoidance.
  • Ensuring supplier agreements are aligned back-to-back with main contract obligations where applicable.
  • Communicating key contractual terms, risks and opportunities to commercial, tendering, operational and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Working with operational and supply chain teams to understand strategic supplier requirements and service delivery objectives.
  • Assessing opportunities to extend supplier agreements more broadly across the business where appropriate.
  • Reviewing the application of agreements across international jurisdictions and introducing special conditions where required.
  • Collaborating with legal, insurance and tax functions to agree appropriate sub-contract terms and mitigate risk exposure.
  • Supporting commercial and operational teams in identifying contractual risks and ensuring appropriate protections are in place.
  • Supporting engagement of limited companies and recruitment agencies to ensure contractual compliance.

           

About you:

  • Experience within the oil and gas services sector, with strong experience reviewing and negotiating contractual terms and conditions.
  • Ability to provide commercially focused, pragmatic contractual advice.
  • Confident communicator, able to relay complex contractual matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Robust decision-making capability with a strong understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry standard contractual frameworks such as LOGIC or BIMCO preferred.
  • Renewables or offshore wind experience advantageous.
