An established subsea services organisation is seeking an experienced Subsea Services Manager to lead its workshop, asset and operational delivery activities from its Aberdeen South facility.

     

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a senior leadership position with responsibility for the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of onshore and offshore operations. The position oversees Assembly & Test and Machine Shop facilities.

             

This opportunity would suit an accomplished subsea professional who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, credible people leadership and established relationships across the UK energy sector.

                 

Overview job description

  • Hold overall accountability for the safe and effective delivery of projects and operational activities.
  • Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring the required people, facilities, equipment and resources are available.
  • Drive productivity, utilisation, efficiency and profitability across operational cost centres.
  • Ensure contractual commitments and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Provide operational performance reporting to senior leadership.
  • Maximise the performance of the Assembly & Test and Machine Shop operations.
  • Oversee the utilisation, maintenance and readiness of operational assets and equipment.
  • Manage subcontracted operational activity, inventory, materials and subsea equipment rental.
  • Recommend capital investment and business improvement initiatives.

                   

Strategic and Commercial Leadership

  • This role has a broader remit than operational delivery alone. You will contribute to the organisation’s budgets, business plans, growth strategy and investment priorities while identifying new market, service and diversification opportunities.
  • You will act as a senior representative with clients, support tenders and proposals, contribute operational input to pricing and contract negotiations, and work closely with the Business Development and Commercial team to strengthen the sales pipeline. You will also support organisational capability, succession planning and workforce development.

                    

HSEQ Leadership

Safety will remain central to every decision. You will:

  • Champion a proactive and positive safety culture.
  • Maintain accountability for safety, quality and environmental performance.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
  • Ensure HSEQ management systems are implemented effectively.
  • Provide visible safety leadership throughout the organisation.

                  

About You

You will bring:

  • Significant subsea and surface oil and gas experience, ideally spanning Life of Field and decommissioning activities.
  • At least five years’ management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of subsea equipment, including subsea trees, tubing hangers, tree caps and running tools.
  • Commercial experience involving budgets, tenders and operational profitability.
  • Established relationships across the UK operator and service-company market.
  • The ability to lead, coach and develop others.
  • An HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, an appropriate trade background or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong planning, communication, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills.
  • A clear commitment to placing safety above all other operational requirements.
