Transport Coordinator - VR/32738

This role is focused on coordinating domestic and international road freight, managing import and export shipments from quotation through to completion. You'll provide pricing, arrange transport, plan loads and keep clients updated throughout each movement, working as part of an established global freight and logistics business with a long-standing presence in Aberdeen and extensive experience supporting the energy sector.

   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate import and export road freight shipments from quotation through to completion.
  • Provide competitive pricing and transport solutions based on individual client requirements.
  • Manage awarded jobs through each stage of the transport process, ensuring shipments are followed through to completion.
  • Provide proactive updates to clients and resolve issues arising during the movement of freight.
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients, hauliers and other external stakeholders to ensure transport services run smoothly.
  • Plan loads for domestic and international trailers.
  • Prepare and complete transport documentation, including pre-alerts and CMRs.
  • Process and maintain job files accurately within the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Complete client billing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure transport activities comply with relevant company procedures and legal requirements, including customs, dangerous goods and transport security.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency and customer service throughout the shipment process.

             

About You:

  • Previous experience within transport, logistics or freight forwarding, with European or domestic road freight experience particularly advantageous.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with confidence dealing with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
  • Confident working with numbers and supporting pricing activities.
  • Able to take responsibility, use your initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods requirements would be advantageous.
