Welding Pipefitter - VR/32602

We are looking to support our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Aberdeen, in recruiting an experienced Pipefitter to join their busy Workshop Team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a company known for delivering high-quality fabrication and engineering solutions across a range of industrial sectors.

     

Working within a skilled Production Team, you'll play a key role in the preparation, fitting and dimensional verification of components prior to welding, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

      

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fit and assemble components in preparation for welding.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, work instructions and schematics.
  • Carry out dimensional verification of components and welded assemblies using handheld measuring equipment and computer-aided measuring systems.
  • Prepare components for welding using mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the workshop.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Support the wider Workshop Team to achieve production targets.
  • Undertake manual welding duties where required.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Previous experience in a Pipefitter or similar engineering workshop role.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication schematics.
  • Experience preparing components for welding and carrying out fit-up activities.
  • Knowledge of welding processes and fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality and HSE standards within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience using Faro (CMM) measuring equipment or similar dimensional inspection systems would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • An engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
